The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfredão Laguna got free with Tommy Kahn in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tommy Kahn was out of position in the 43 minute of play, and Amerigo Loreto capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Amerigo Loreto really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredão Laguna, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The wind increased when Amadeu Quintal made the kick off in the second half. Alfredão Laguna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. Tommy Kahn was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 82ndth minute of the game Frank Sachs who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atletico Roma's Amedeo Scrima was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 87th minute, Chris Alig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amedeo Scrima made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Sachs in the 91st minute. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amadeu Quintal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 93 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Dreifuss.
