The goal made the score 1-1. Rony Coelho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Graciano Coutinho got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 18th minute, Meriç Nurkan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rony Coelho took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 23 minutes into the game, Caetano Moreira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Emílio Cordeiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 26 minutes into the match, Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amedeo Faccio. After a defensive mix-up in Š¢σяpiσиŠ's zone, Felipe Barreto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emílio Cordeiro came out of the goal and Felipe Barreto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emílio Cordeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 35 minutes into the match, Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amedeo Faccio. After a rather tough play, Š¢σяpiσиŠ's Meriç Nurkan got a free kick in the 37th minute. In the 39th minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emílio Cordeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Š¢σяpiσиŠ's Meriç Nurkan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wilson Amorim. That made the score 3-2 after 40 minutes of play. 46 minutes into the match, Caetano Moreira notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Š¢σяpiσиŠ's Emílio Cordeiro. Emílio Cordeiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rony Coelho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Š¢σяpiσиŠ's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Moreira came free, but Emílio Cordeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th minute, Felipinho Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felipe Barretos short, quick shot in the 60thth minute got Emílio Cordeiro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Portugal booed when Š¢σяpiσиŠ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fortunato Domenghini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Š¢σяpiσиŠ's Jorginho Esteves was substituted for Fortunato Domenghini. Fortunato Domenghini hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After 68 played minutes Š¢σяpiσиŠ got a freekick which was hit by Rachman Eastwood. A collision led to Š¢σяpiσиŠ getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Rachman Eastwood hit a great ball. Emílio Cordeiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felipe Barreto in the 70th minute. After 72 minutes Š¢σяpiσиŠ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Felipe Barreto who took care of the corner kick. Faustino Almeida was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 75th minute, Portugal's Felipe Barreto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Emílio Cordeiro. Emílio Cordeiro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-4. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Cardozo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilberto Cardozo in the 82nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 83rd minute of play forced Š¢σяpiσиŠ's goalkeeper Emílio Cordeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felipe Barreto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Emílio Cordeiro made a huge save. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Cardozo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 88 played minutes Š¢σяpiσиŠ got a freekick which was hit by Bobby Moore. A sloppy throw-in by Bobby Moore in the 95th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Portugal's Daniel Pimentel.
