Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off which started today's match. A collision led to Newton FC getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Pablo Gomes hit a great ball. In the 5th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Gustaaf Groeneveldt almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Newton FC's Attilio Gentile did a great save. In the 7th minute Lars Meesters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Attilio Gentile saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Rogelio Sagrario tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 14th minute Newton FC were awarded a corner. Rogelio Sagrario went to the cornerflag to take it. Newton FC's Attilio Gentile played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 15th minute of play. After having played for 17 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Attilio Gentile took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 21 minutes Newton FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Attilio Gentile made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Eikelkamp in the 22nd minute of play. Newton FC's Attilio Gentile played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Teo Cugat recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Arnout Reekers. Teo Cugat showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Emanuel Bilbo made in the 34th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newton FC's goalkeeper Attilio Gentile, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rogelio Sagrario. 38 minutes into the match, Newton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Attilio Gentile reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute, Mathijn Doctor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rogelio Sagrario could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. After having played for 47 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Evelio Jerold was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute of the match Newton FC got a corner. Netherlands's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rogelio Sagrario ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Newton FC's Rogelio Sagrario to fire away a dangerous shot which Arnout Reekers despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Newton FC booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathijn Doctor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Newton FC's Rogelio Sagrario couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 54th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Netherlands. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Attilio Gentile firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 58th minute Lars Meesters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Attilio Gentile saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lars Meesters might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Attilio Gentile. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lars Meesters ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Attilio Gentile breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Gijsbert ter Kruimer came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gijsbert ter Kruimer couldn't finish the play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt scored 1-1 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Attilio Gentile, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Attilio Gentile having to interfere. In the 77th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Egbert Nijveldt got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Attilio Gentile quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 86th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Attilio Gentile saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wim Wilmes struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Attilio Gentile didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evelio Jerold in the 91st minute of play. Newton FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Netherlands had controlled the match.
