With a little luck, Italy's Flavio Vittori got control of the ball when Martín Cardetti tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Italy's Siricio Liotta got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 45th minute Sigfrido Auletta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eleuterio Urbez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martín Cardetti in the 46th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martín Cardetti in the 59th minute of the match. 63 minutes into the game, Zaccheo Andolina cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Eleuterio Urbez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rogelio Mouricio during the 74th minute. Italy's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
