In the 18th minute of the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Lionel Van Den Broek saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Netherlands's Mathijn Doctor managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Rolf Huveneers in the 56 minute of the game. Arnout Reekers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
