Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Copil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 11 minutes into the match, San Martin de Tucuman's goal looked a bit too open when Antal Valentin came free, but Cecilio Jax reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ivan Copil. Bakos Endre made in the 16th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by San Martin de Tucuman's Sergio Vitin. Szekeres Tamas kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Hungary's zone, Petr Schejbal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fodor Daniel came out of the goal and Petr Schejbal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st minute Antal Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cecilio Jax saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th match minute, San Martin de Tucuman was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Osasun to maneuver through the defense. Antal Valentin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 37th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cecilio Jax. San Martin de Tucuman's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, San Martin de Tucuman's Ivan Copil got a free kick in the 41st minute. After 43 played minutes San Martin de Tucuman got a freekick which was hit by Stig-Inge Joakimsen. 46 minutes into the match, San Martin de Tucuman's goal looked a bit too open when Major Barna came free, but Cecilio Jax reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 50 minutes, Petr Schejbal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the San Martin de Tucuman and the Hungary players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 50 played minutes San Martin de Tucuman got a freekick which was hit by Petr Schejbal. Major Barna might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cecilio Jax. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Major Barna ran back to his position shaking his head. Cecilio Jax made an important save on a dangerous shot by Major Barna in the 51st minute. Major Barna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cecilio Jax having to interfere. 55 minutes into the game, Antal Valentin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Cecilio Jax was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 62nd match minute, San Martin de Tucuman was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petr Schejbal to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute Bartolo Harkaitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fodor Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Braulio Astudillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute, Bartolo Harkaitz made a precise shot to the right of Fodor Daniel. Hungary's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. San Martin de Tucuman's Luciano Selmo was substituted for Severino Elorri. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Hungary players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
