But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armando Toppi couldn't finish the play. Antal Valentin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo Renato Bittencourt to make the kick off. If Nunez Hernando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Cacciola's Ivan Vlaykovski got control of the ball when Major Barna tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nunez Hernando in the 76th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Federico Frabetti in the 79th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th match minute, Hungary was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hegedus Henrik to maneuver through the defense. Ivan Vlaykovski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Major Barna in the 83rd minute. An unexpected shot in the 85th minute by Antal Valentin got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
