Muhammad Chan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. In the 96th minute Claudinei Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Italy's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
