Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 2nd minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Daunte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zacarias Francesco in the 9th minute of the match. Osvaldo Daunte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 10th minute of play. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 11th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Egbert Nijveldt heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nestor Gaxan got free with Arnout Reekers in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Osvaldo Daunte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 18th minute of the match. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Characate FC's goalkeeper Osvaldo Daunte, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Osvaldo Daunte saved Characate FC from getting behind. In the 24th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Daunte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Characate FC booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Eikelkamp didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a precise shot to the right of Osvaldo Daunte. Characate FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leopoldo Afonso made a kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Characate FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Osvaldo Daunte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Daunte having to interfere. After 58 minutes of play, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Osvaldo Daunte was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 60th minute Lars Meesters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Daunte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osvaldo Daunte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Afonso in the 69th minute of play. Osvaldo Daunte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 71st minute of the match. A collision led to Characate FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Leopoldo Afonso hit a great ball. Osvaldo Daunte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 73rd minute of play. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Characate FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafino Paez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Characate FC defense, Wim Wilmes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Osvaldo Daunte. The Characate FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Osvaldo Daunte should have stopped the shot. In the 82nd minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Daunte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Characate FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Osvaldo Daunte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emre Can hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Osvaldo Daunte was a little too slow when Wim Wilmes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 0-4. The Netherlands supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Netherlands would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
