Mihály Földesi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antal Valentin in the 15th minute of play. Gábor Szaniszló hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antal Valentin in the 18th minute of play forced Gyál United's goalkeeper Mihály Földesi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Gyál United's zone, Balazs Lajos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihály Földesi came out of the goal and Balazs Lajos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mihály Földesi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Major Barna in the 21st minute of play. The supporters of Hungary booed when Gyál United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gábor Szaniszló didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute, Takacs Tibor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mihály Földesi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The supporters of Hungary booed when Gyál United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Csaba Lisztes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Takacs Tibor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihály Földesi having to interfere. The Gyál United players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Hungary were winning 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when László Medgyesi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zoltán Ebedli in the 51st minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antal Valentin did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-4 to the left of a surprised Mihály Földesi 52 minutes into the match. 56 minutes into the match, Antal Valentin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mihály Földesi. Gyál United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antal Valentin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. In the 59th minute, Balazs Lajos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Balazs Lajos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mihály Földesi. That made the score 0-8 in the 78 minute of play. István Juhász hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Takacs Tibor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Antal Valentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Hungary's Antal Valentin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mihály Földesi. That made the score 0-10 after 89 minutes of play. After 92 played minutes Gyál United got a freekick which was hit by Gábor Szaniszló. Hungary played a much better game than Gyál United and deserved their victory. The Gyál United players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
