The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 8th minute, Omar Toledo fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Marcos Ranolfo, passed just outside the right post. Estudiantes de América's Maximo Dei managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jonathan Criado in the 16 minute of the game. Gabriel Ascaso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kraig Fred in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th minute of the match Estudiantes de América got a corner. Spain's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Maximo Dei ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Maximo Dei got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gabriel Ascaso quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 24 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de América's goal looked a bit too open when Adria Bielsa came free, but Marcos Ranolfo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cornelio Ruisko in the 26th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabriel Ascaso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kraig Fred, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. A collision led to Spain getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Enrique Rabellino hit a great ball. Marcos Ranolfo was out of position in the 39 minute of play, and Omar Toledo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Omar Toledo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Leon Dzierwa hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Estudiantes de América's Marcos Ranolfo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adria Bielsa in the 48th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by David Aranda in the 53rd minute of play forced Estudiantes de América's goalkeeper Marcos Ranolfo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 54 minutes Estudiantes de América's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Omar Toledo who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Estudiantes de América's goalie and right to Adria Bielsa. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Estudiantes de América's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Karl Van Der Veecken kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Estudiantes de América's Traian Blăniță was substituted for Flavio Iraunkor. Estudiantes de América's Concetto Trasatti was substituted for Kraig Fred. Karl Van Der Veecken hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute of the match Omar Toledo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcos Ranolfo skillfully saved the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de América's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Toledo came free, but Marcos Ranolfo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Spain had played much better football throughout.
