Nery Pumpido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 11th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nery Pumpido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Eikelkamp in the 16th minute of play. Nery Pumpido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 18th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Angel Alvarenga kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. A hard shot 25 in the game by Sven-Edvin Jansson from a close distance when the talented Arnout Reekers managed to make a qualified save. Netherlands's players were relieved. Nery Pumpido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Nery Pumpido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 41st minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. After 63 minutes of play, GuateFortín's Zico Zellier made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! GuateFortín made a substitution. Mario Gomez replaced Angel Alvarenga. GuateFortín's Heriberto Correa was substituted for Roberto Trotta. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 74th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nery Pumpido was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Wim Wilmes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 76 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Eikelkamp in the 80th minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nery Pumpido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 87th minute of the match. In the 95th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathijn Doctor to maneuver through the defense. Egbert Nijveldt hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Netherlands played a much better game than GuateFortín and deserved their victory. The GuateFortín players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
