The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Denizhan Ünüvar was the one to do the kick off. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 54th minute. Netherlands's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Wim Wilmes scored 1-4 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Shi Guo Wen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 63rd minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shi Guo Wen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 64 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 66 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio Carlos Almeida came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antônio Carlos Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denizhan Ünüvar in the 70th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Netherlands's zone, Ni Jun Liang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal and Ni Jun Liang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. En avant de guingamp's Shi Guo Wen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save En avant de guingamp from getting a goal against them. After 79 played minutes En avant de guingamp got a freekick which was hit by Magne Wenerdahl. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shi Guo Wen having to interfere. In the 83rd minute Ni Jun Liang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio Carlos Almeida came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Carlos Almeida in the 89th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antônio Carlos Almeida in the 92nd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Netherlands eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
