But to his dismay, Hans-Hermann Spieler quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Tomás Bonifaco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Torino FC's Abelardo Tonio got a free kick in the 21st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Tomás Bonifaco in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Gijsbert ter Kruimer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomás Bonifaco was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Torino FC's Tomás Bonifaco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Torino FC from getting a goal against them. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. In the 61st minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Bonifaco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes had been played when some careless play by Torino FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tomás Bonifaco in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Bartolo Ishmael had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Gogo Fidele sent off a good shot on target. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Kees Mooiweer hit a great ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Tomás Bonifaco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Wim Wilmes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Bonifaco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomás Bonifaco came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt. But to his dismay, Gustaaf Groeneveldt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. After 90 minutes of play, Torino FC's Hans-Hermann Spieler made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 93 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Kees Mooiweer. In the 95th minute, Gogo Fidele reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Arnout Reekers. The goal made the score 1-5.
