The referee showed Iggy Costacurta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 11 played minutes Camarón Bombay got a freekick which was hit by Iggy Costacurta. Gianluca Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, Camarón Bombay's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Gianluca Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rene Houseman hit a great ball. 32 minutes into the match, Camarón Bombay's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Gianluca Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gianluca Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roland Tolnay in the 44th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Camarón Bombay booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Eikelkamp didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half. Wim Wilmes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gianluca Buffon came out and tried to block the shot, but Wim Wilmes slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 51st minute. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dieguito Van Der Kuijlen in the 54th minute of play. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rene Houseman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camarón Bombay made a substitution. Aquilino Errapel replaced Rene Houseman. With a little luck, Camarón Bombay's Gianluca Buffon got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Camarón Bombay's goalkeeper Gianluca Buffon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wim Wilmes. Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free with the goalkeeper in the 76th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gianluca Buffon could save by the left post. Camarón Bombay's Federico Valerio was substituted for Conrado Shepherd. 81 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gianluca Buffon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 84 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Federico Valerio came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Roland Tolnay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Netherlands played a much better game than Camarón Bombay and deserved their victory. The Camarón Bombay players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
