The supporters of Buffalo Timişoara booed when Belgium was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sander Dermaut didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Buffalo Timişoara's Augusto Benitez in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Edward Vanderstraeten was slow to take the kick. During this time Belgium's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Buffalo Timişoara's goalie and right to Lenny Clocheret. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Buffalo Timişoara's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 31 minutes into the match, Edward Vanderstraeten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alisson Becker. Buffalo Timişoara's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edward Vanderstraeten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 34th minute, Augusto Benitez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Casper Claes was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Belgium's Casper Claes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Zbora in the 42nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Buffalo Timişoara defense, Edward Vanderstraeten kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alisson Becker. The Buffalo Timişoara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alisson Becker should have stopped the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edward Vanderstraeten to make the kick off. If Edward Vanderstraeten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Benitez in the 53rd minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Buffalo Timişoara's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Vanderstraeten came free, but Alisson Becker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alisson Becker stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edward Vanderstraeten's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Alisson Becker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 61st minute of the match. Alisson Becker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the match, Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adrian Zbora. Simon Sabbe kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Buffalo Timişoara's Valentin Voicu was substituted for Franky Ooms. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Casper Claes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Buffalo Timişoara's Emil Banciu got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Buffalo Timişoara made a substitution. Maxim Pintilie replaced Victor Neicu. In the 77th minute Edward Vanderstraeten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alisson Becker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the game, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alisson Becker made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Through an outstanding action, after 84 minutes, Casper Claes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 88 minutes into the game, Edward Vanderstraeten cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Alisson Becker was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 92nd minute, Maxim Pintilie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edward Vanderstraeten was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 92nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Edward Vanderstraeten made a great header on Belgium's corner, it was just that Buffalo Timişoara's Alisson Becker managed to reach the ball for a save. Belgium's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
