Maxime Durand was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raigo Vananurm in the 12th minute of play forced France's goalkeeper Maxime Durand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes into the match, France's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Mendonça came free, but Maxime Durand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Mendonça in the 15th minute of play forced France's goalkeeper Maxime Durand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maxime Durand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After 17 played minutes Scarlet Speedster got a freekick which was hit by Jens-Ove Eriksson. Scarlet Speedster were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after France's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edward Krzynowek took the corner. The audience was convinced that Raigo Vananurm's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maxime Durand was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. 38 minutes into the game, Scarlet Speedster's Fausto Mendonça nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maxime Durand made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 42nd minute, Jean Bombelles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maxime Durand came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Scarlet Speedster's Fausto Mendonça. But to his dismay, Fausto Mendonça quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fausto Mendonça made a kick off. France's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Fausto Mendonça 52 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-5. 55 minutes into the match, Fausto Mendonça notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of France's Maxime Durand. Maxime Durand was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fausto Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, Scarlet Speedster's Virgílio Perez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Maxime Durand narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Virgílio Perez kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Maxime Durand. That made the score 0-8 in the 70 minute of play. In the 74th minute, Virgílio Perez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Maxime Durand was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. Virgílio Perez might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maxime Durand. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Virgílio Perez ran back to his position shaking his head. Maxime Durand made an important save on a dangerous shot by Virgílio Perez in the 78th minute. Virgílio Perez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maxime Durand having to make a save. 82 minutes into the match, France's goalkeeper Maxime Durand had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Virgílio Perez. Virgílio Perez might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maxime Durand. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Virgílio Perez ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, France's Maxime Durand got control of the ball when Virgílio Perez tried to sneak it across the goal line.
