When Gijsbert ter Kruimer came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gijsbert ter Kruimer couldn't finish the play. In the 19th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Szczepan Niezywy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kees Mooiweer made in the 25th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Lars Meesters. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 28th minute. David Eikelkamp was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Typy z Nienacka's Allan Kinnman managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Lars Meesters in the 31 minute of the game. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Rickard Pihlgren tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 34th minute, David Eikelkamp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Rickard Pihlgren sent off a good shot on target. 41 minutes into the match, Typy z Nienacka's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Szczepan Niezywy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rickard Pihlgren got free with Arnout Reekers in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Gustaaf Groeneveldt came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustaaf Groeneveldt couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Szczepan Niezywy having to interfere. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rickard Pihlgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olaf Fudalej during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Szczepan Niezywy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Szczepan Niezywy to make any attempt to save it. Szczepan Niezywy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 67th minute of play. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Typy z Nienacka's goalkeeper Szczepan Niezywy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 74th minute of play forced Typy z Nienacka's goalkeeper Szczepan Niezywy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Typy z Nienacka's Szczepan Niezywy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Typy z Nienacka from getting a goal against them. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Szczepan Niezywy made a huge save. Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Szczepan Niezywy having to interfere. Szczepan Niezywy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Lars Meesters almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Typy z Nienacka's Szczepan Niezywy did a great save. Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 89 minutes into the match, Typy z Nienacka's goalkeeper Szczepan Niezywy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Eikelkamp. After 90 played minutes Typy z Nienacka got a freekick which was hit by Allan Kinnman. The crowd rose to their feet as Wim Wilmes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Szczepan Niezywy. That made the score 0-2 in the 91 minute of play. Netherlands played a much better game than Typy z Nienacka and deserved their victory. The Typy z Nienacka players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
