Dragões Barbudos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Idalécio Baldaia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Idalécio Baldaia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. 12 minutes into the game, Dragões Barbudos FC's Idalécio Baldaia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. A hard shot 17 in the game by Felipe Barreto from a close distance when the talented Daniel Chaves managed to make a qualified save. Dragões Barbudos FC's players were relieved. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Augusto Coutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the match, Portugal's Felipe Barreto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Daniel Chaves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dragões Barbudos FC's Daniel Chaves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Dragões Barbudos FC from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, Portugal's Daniel Chaves threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Caetano Moreira, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Idalécio Baldaia made a kick off. After taking down the ball on Portugal's corner Felipe Barreto fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Daniel Chaves quite easily take care of the ball. After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Neto Queraria kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. The Portugal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Amorim should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Raul Caetano got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Chaves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Viriato Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Chaves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 65th minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Dragões Barbudos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Daniel Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dragões Barbudos FC's Daniel Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 66th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felipinho Amorim in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daniel Chaves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felipinho Amorim in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Daniel Chaves saved Dragões Barbudos FC from getting behind. Daniel Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 93rd minute of the match. Caetano Moreira's late challenge caught a Dragões Barbudos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Caetano Moreira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caetano Moreira to maneuver through the defense. The Portugal supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Dragões Barbudos FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Dragões Barbudos FC.
