In the 35th minute Federico Insúa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute, Sigfrido Auletta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Los Liquisue FC's goalkeeper Uwe Septinius, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Los Liquisue FC's Natalio Henrico was substituted for Guillermo Maureo. 63 minutes into the game, Paolo Xabat threw the ball into play from the sideline. Uwe Septinius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Federico Insúa. After 85 played minutes Italy got a freekick which was hit by Deodato Magliozzi. In the 87th minute, Deodato Magliozzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Flavio Vittori stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abel Aureo's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Los Liquisue FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Curto came free, but Uwe Septinius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Los Liquisue FC defense, Adriano Curto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Uwe Septinius. The Los Liquisue FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Uwe Septinius should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Italy fans cheered their team off the field, for while Los Liquisue FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
