Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Reinaldo McCormick took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 2nd minute of play forced Flame Throwers's goalkeeper Waldo Helton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flame Throwers's Waldo Helton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 4th minute of play. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Scotty Dietz, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. The corner led Netherlands's Lars Meesters to fire away a dangerous shot which Waldo Helton despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 35th minute, Wim Wilmes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Waldo Helton was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Waldo Helton saved Flame Throwers from getting behind. After the first half Netherlands were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, David Eikelkamp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 58th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldo Helton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Scotty Dietz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Flame Throwers's goalkeeper Waldo Helton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gustaaf Groeneveldt who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 76thth minute tested the skills of Waldo Helton when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 77th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustaaf Groeneveldt to maneuver through the defense. Gustaaf Groeneveldt took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Waldo Helton. Waldo Helton dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Waldo Helton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Waldo Helton came out and tried to block the shot, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 86th minute. When Gustaaf Groeneveldt came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustaaf Groeneveldt couldn't finish the play. Dave Paris charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dave Paris the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Flame Throwers getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Dave Paris hit a great ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Netherlands left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Flame Throwers.
