Romeu Guedes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Lago in the 13th minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Romeu Guedes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vinicio Bermudo took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Guararapes's Vinicio Bermudo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Arnout Reekers. That made the score 2-0 after 23 minutes of play. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Lago in the 28th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd match minute, Guararapes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tenorio Urrue to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 35th minute of play forced Guararapes's goalkeeper Romeu Guedes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Vinicio Bermudo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 41 minutes Netherlands's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ragıp Işık who took care of the corner kick. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Vinicio Bermudo sent off a good shot on target. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Lago in the 59th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinicio Bermudo in the 60th minute of play. Romeu Guedes made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Lars Meesters sent off a good shot on target. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Romeu Guedes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 72 minutes into the match, Guararapes's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Romeu Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 74 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Kees Mooiweer. 81 minutes into the game, Egbert Nijveldt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Netherlands's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guararapes the free kick. Egbert Nijveldt kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Wim Wilmes came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wim Wilmes couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinicio Bermudo in the 94th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabirel Barbosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Netherlands players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Guararapes.
