The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Denmark's Chris Nygaard got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Denmark's Keld Paulsen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Denmark from getting a goal against them. In the 9th minute, Roni Hafner left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The HIT Gorica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. A collision led to Denmark getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Simon Bendtsen hit a great ball. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Konstantin Pančur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Nygaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the HIT Gorica defense, Chris Nygaard kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Konstantin Pančur. The HIT Gorica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Konstantin Pančur should have stopped the shot. A hard shot 25 in the game by Goražd Djordjević from a close distance when the talented Keld Paulsen managed to make a qualified save. Denmark's players were relieved. In the 27th minute, Lovrencij Brezavšček hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Konstantin Pančur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chris Nygaard in the 28th minute of play. A collision led to HIT Gorica getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Lovrencij Brezavšček hit a great ball. Bertram Svenningsen scored 1-2 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Konstantin Pančur, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 34 minutes into the match, HIT Gorica's goal looked a bit too open when Chris Nygaard came free, but Konstantin Pančur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denmark's Olav Graversen managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Anis Doberšek in the 37 minute of the game. 39 minutes into the game, Chris Nygaard cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Konstantin Pančur was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Keld Paulsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roni Hafner in the 47th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

HIT Gorica's Goražd Djordjević got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Keld Paulsen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Celedonio Frederik went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. After 57 played minutes Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Bertram Svenningsen. 62 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Goražd Djordjević came free, but Keld Paulsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Erland Apelkvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Keld Paulsen. Denmark's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erland Apelkvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. Olav Graversen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Konstantin Pančur having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Roni Hafner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 85 in the game by Chris Nygaard from a close distance when the talented Konstantin Pančur managed to make a qualified save. HIT Gorica's players were relieved. Konstantin Pančur made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Chris Nygaard sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of HIT Gorica booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bjarne Kirkegaard didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Denmark players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for HIT Gorica.
