Portugal's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 9 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Cherro came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Portugal's zone, Hugues Calonne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal and Hugues Calonne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Roberto Cherro sent off a good shot on target. Bolsodios's Roberto Cherro got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 23rd minute, 倪战西 made a precise shot to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Bolsodios's Bennvar Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 27th minute of play. Bennvar Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 32nd minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bennvar Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Roberto Cherro sent off a good shot on target. In the 44th minute of the game Felipe Barreto made a throw-in which Rodolfo Miranda played forward. A collision led to Bolsodios getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Pedro Udalaitz hit a great ball. 47 minutes into the match, Bolsodios's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Bennvar Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Viriato Moura made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice moves Felipe Barreto could shoot a difficult shot in the 52nd minute, which Bennvar Buffon however easily saved by the left post. With a little luck, Bolsodios's Bennvar Buffon got control of the ball when Felipe Barreto tried to sneak it across the goal line. After taking down the ball on Portugal's corner Faustino Almeida fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Bennvar Buffon quite easily take care of the ball. Bolsodios's Berto Somiedo was substituted for 倪战西. Bolsodios made a substitution. Besik Taş replaced Hugues Calonne. In the 72nd minute, Caetano Moreira made a precise shot to the right of Bennvar Buffon. Bolsodios's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Bennvar Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. When Jonas Raymon fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bolsodios's protests and gave Jonas Raymon a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd match minute, Bolsodios was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonas Raymon to maneuver through the defense. Bennvar Buffon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felipinho Amorim in the 87th minute.
