Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. In the 13th minute, Sander Dermaut hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Belgium's Casper Claes got control of the ball when Valdemar Kuoppala tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 15 minutes Belgium's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eero Uusipaavalniemi who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Manchester United FC's Eero Uusipaavalniemi to fire away a dangerous shot which Casper Claes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Taisto Pentsinen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 33rd minute of play forced Manchester United FC's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Markus Vähäsavo made in the 37th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Davide Beckham however managed to control. Valdemar Kuoppalas short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Casper Claes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten, in the 41st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Belgium. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Taisto Pentsinen in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 44th minute of the match Manchester United FC got a corner. Belgium's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eero Uusipaavalniemi ran over to the corner to take the kick. Eero Uusipaavalniemi made a great header on Manchester United FC's corner, it was just that Belgium's Casper Claes managed to reach the ball for a save. 46 minutes into the game, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edwin van der Sar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Valdemar Kuoppala to strike the kick off in the second half. Yves Dervaux fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edwin van der Sar having to interfere. Casper Claes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdemar Kuoppala, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Manchester United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Vanderstraeten came free, but Edwin van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Edward Vanderstraeten could shoot a difficult shot in the 86th minute, which Edwin van der Sar however easily saved by the left post. 88 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Valdemar Kuoppala came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Eero Uusipaavalniemi came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Belgium eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
