Major Barna took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rogério Pinho. Rogério Pinho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A collision led to Hungary getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Szekeres Tamas hit a great ball. Rogério Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Major Barna in the 26th minute of play. Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eurico Aguiar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Antal Valentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Johan Cruijff hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. The supporters of Olympique Deleon booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Szekeres Tamas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fodor Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eurico Aguiar in the 44th minute of play. Rogério Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antal Valentin in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antal Valentin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Antal Valentin struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Olympique Deleon's Rogério Pinho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Olympique Deleon from getting a goal against them. The score was now 1-3. 77 minutes into the match, Hungary's Hegedus Henrik sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rogério Pinho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hungary's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
