Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Viriato Moura made the kick off which started today's match. After having played for 3 minutes, Felipe Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portugal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felipe Barreto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 5th minute, Manchester United FC's Rio Ferdinand seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Rio Ferdinand the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Manchester United FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Rio Ferdinand had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 5 played minutes Manchester United FC got a freekick which was hit by Rio Ferdinand. In the 6th minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Portugal's Wilson Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Portugal from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Bruno Bastos hit a great ball. After 24 minutes of play, Manchester United FC's Davide Beckham made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilson Amorim was left in no man's land by his defense there! 27 minutes into the match, Caetano Moreira notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Manchester United FC's Edwin van der Sar. Edwin van der Sar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Edwin van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Edwin van der Sar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edwin van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 34th minute of play. Manchester United FC's Edwin van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Barreto in the 40th minute of play. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Manchester United FC's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Valdemar Kuoppala sent off a good shot on target.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdemar Kuoppala stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Valdemar Kuoppala struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Wilson Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester United FC. Edwin van der Sar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edwin van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Moreira in the 65th minute of play. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eero Uusipaavalniemi in the 67th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Rodolfo Miranda got a free kick in the 67th minute. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Rodolfo Miranda hit a great ball. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Manchester United FC's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edwin van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Taisto Pentsinen hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute, Caetano Moreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 88th minute Caetano Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Portugal were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Manchester United FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Pimentel took the corner. In a very dangerous position, a player in Manchester United FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 90th minute. Penalty! Edwin van der Sar came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Portugal's Caetano Moreira. But to his dismay, Caetano Moreira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Manchester United FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Portugal's performance. The match ended with a win for Portugal.
