Frank Moyle blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilson Amorim having to make a save. POPULAR F.C's Pancracio Paniagua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Barreto in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th minute, Maicon de Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pancracio Paniagua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. The throw-in from Fabricio Andrade in the 29th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by POPULAR F.C's Maicon de Godoi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Moreira in the 31st minute of play forced POPULAR F.C's goalkeeper Pancracio Paniagua to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute Frank Moyle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Moyle, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 38 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when POPULAR F.C's Frank Moyle fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. In the 42nd minute Daniel Pimentel suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maicon de Godoi during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Daniel Pimentel. Maicon de Godoi hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Graciano Coutinho kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frank Moyle to make the kick off. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Moyle in the 60th minute of the match. In the 62nd match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Miranda to maneuver through the defense. POPULAR F.C made a substitution. Sílvio Luís Pires replaced Jean Simão. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Rodolfo Miranda got a free kick in the 64th minute. 72 minutes into the game, Portugal's Felipe Barreto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pancracio Paniagua made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Portugal made a substitution. Felipinho Amorim replaced Felipe Barreto. If Mei Xun Jun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Felipinho Amorim's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pancracio Paniagua read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. When Stefaan Valkeneers came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the POPULAR F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stefaan Valkeneers couldn't finish the play. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Moyle in the 89th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the game, Felipinho Amorim cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Pancracio Paniagua was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The POPULAR F.C supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Portugal's performance. The match ended with a win for Portugal.
