Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Donato Oliveira took the kick off in the first half of the match. Abelardo Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio Ferraz in the 8th minute of play. Felipe Barreto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Abelardo Maranhense made a huge save. Caetano Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abelardo Maranhense having to interfere. Abelardo Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caetano Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 24 minutes in the game Tony Schmidt did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Rubinho Chaves. In the 29th minute of the match Olivedos got a corner. Portugal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luisinho Ceresso ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Luisinho Ceresso got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Wilson Amorim quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 31st minute of the match, Caetano Moreira tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Abelardo Maranhense saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 34 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Donato Oliveira came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Bruno Bastos hit a great ball. Abelardo Maranhense made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Felipe Barreto sent off a good shot on target. A sloppy throw-in by Tony Schmidt in the 44th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Portugal's Daniel Pimentel. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donato Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Viriato Moura's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abelardo Maranhense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 50th minute of play. Abelardo Maranhense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 54th minute of play. The corner led Portugal's Graciano Coutinho to a score. 2-1 in the 55th minute. In the 58th minute, Agostinho Cosme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Olivedos getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Donato Oliveira hit a great ball. 62 minutes into the game, Olivedos's Rômulo Custódio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. When Donato Oliveira came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Olivedos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donato Oliveira couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Portugal's zone, Cássio Ferraz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal and Cássio Ferraz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. Portugal made a substitution. Felipinho Amorim replaced Felipe Barreto. With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Donato Oliveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 70th minute Donato Oliveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartolomeu Dias in the 73rd minute of play forced Olivedos's goalkeeper Abelardo Maranhense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 92 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Caetano Moreira. In the 93rd minute, Donato Oliveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
