An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliézer Bueno in the 17th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cássio Velasco scored 1-0 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Kahn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Frank Sachs charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frank Sachs the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 25th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Sachs to maneuver through the defense. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélio Corrêa, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Tommy Kahn made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Cássio Velasco sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 31st minute of play forced Jumentus's goalkeeper Adriano Penha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frank Sachs in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adriano Penha saved Jumentus from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 41st minute of play forced Jumentus's goalkeeper Adriano Penha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute Germany were awarded a corner. Frank Sachs went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Germany's Frank Sachs to fire away a dangerous shot which Adriano Penha despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

51 minutes into the game, Germany's Albin Holweck nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adriano Penha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 56th minute, Germany's Albin Holweck dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Ulrich Stein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriano Penha having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cássio Velasco in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Frank Sachs struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Adriano Penha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Germany. Frank Sachs blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adriano Penha having to make a save. Adriano Penha made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Frank Sachs sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Germany booed when Jumentus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glauco Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adriano Penha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Sachs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute, Hélio Corrêa made a precise shot to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cássio Velasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. 94 minutes into the game, Hélio Corrêa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Tommy Kahn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. There was no doubt that Jumentus were the better team. Jumentus's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
