In the 18th minute of the match, Kyle Cox tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Lisandro Gomez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 21 minutes into the match, The Pontiac Bandit's goalkeeper Lisandro Gomez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Issac Dawson. Micah Macdonald's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Lisandro Gomez firmly grabbed it by the left post. Lisandro Gomez made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Micah Macdonald sent off a good shot on target. Lisandro Gomez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Issac Dawson in the 27th minute of play. Lisandro Gomez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kyle Cox, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristo Hondo took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Khalid Kennedy. Khalid Kennedy dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 35 minutes into the game, Xavier Gallagher cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Lisandro Gomez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With his leg Lisandro Gomez managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when England's Micah Macdonald fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 42 minutes into the match, The Pontiac Bandit's goal looked a bit too open when Issac Dawson came free, but Lisandro Gomez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 42 played minutes England got a freekick which was hit by Caelan Hayes. The Pontiac Bandit's Lisandro Gomez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caelan Hayes in the 45th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kyle Cox was the one to do the kick off.
