The score was now 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Club Ibiza's zone, Zaccheo Andolina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rene Higuita came out of the goal and Zaccheo Andolina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zaccheo Andolina got free with Rene Higuita in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Club Ibiza's Bruno Fonso got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zaccheo Andolina could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Rene Higuita made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zaccheo Andolina got free with Rene Higuita in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rene Higuita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zaccheo Andolina's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. After having played for 35 minutes, Phillip Hunt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Ibiza's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phillip Hunt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Fonso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Club Ibiza's Mariano Ireno got a free kick in the 44th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bruno Fonso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sigfrido Auletta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rene Higuita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Bruno Fonso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Flavio Vittori having to make a save. With a little luck, Italy's Flavio Vittori got control of the ball when Bruno Fonso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zaccheo Andolina struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Rene Higuita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Italy. Club Ibiza's Beliran Poblaciones was substituted for Cacey 武磊.
