Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edwin van der Sar having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Edwin van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16thth minute of the game Bas Tuitert who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s Edwin van der Sar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pacorro Aguilar in the 27th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s Hori Guillemez got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 31 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Pacorro Aguilar came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Netherlands defense, Pacorro Aguilar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnout Reekers. The Netherlands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnout Reekers should have stopped the shot. In the 45th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gust Ennemans to maneuver through the defense. Edwin van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pacorro Aguilar to strike the kick off in the second half. Gust Ennemans made in the 51st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s Iliana Seseña. The supporters of Netherlands booed when ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hori Guillemez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edwin van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 65th minute of play. ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦'s Santos Sanz was substituted for Refugio Colsa. 73 minutes into the game, Kees Mooiweer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Netherlands's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ♠♥ Stardust Crusaders ♣♦ the free kick. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
