In the 16th minute, Eliseo Sasoin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Denmark booed when C. A. Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Everardo Rio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Denmark's Bertram Svenningsen got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tony Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Nygaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Chris Nygaard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tony Guimarães was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Denmark's Keld Paulsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Primo in the 24th minute of play. Denmark's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C. A. Atlanta the free kick. After 74 played minutes Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Bjarne Kirkegaard. Keld Paulsen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Teodoro Primo went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teodoro Primo in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Keld Paulsen saved Denmark from getting behind. After 81 played minutes Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Bjarne Kirkegaard. Keld Paulsen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Everardo Rio in the 84th minute. 85 minutes into the match, C. A. Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Chris Nygaard came free, but Tony Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Everardo Rio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 92 minutes into the game, C. A. Atlanta's Teodoro Primo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Keld Paulsen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. C. A. Atlanta's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
