Portugal's Wilson Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Portugal from getting a goal against them. In the 33rd minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andres Ekhi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Portugal's Bruno Bastos managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Tales Gonçalves in the 35 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Moreira in the 36th minute of play forced Ricart Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Andres Ekhi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th match minute, Ricart Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tales Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute, Felipe Barreto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portugal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Ricart Futebol Clube's Andres Ekhi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 48th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viriato Moura to make the kick off. Tales Gonçalves made in the 53rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Portugal's Bruno Bastos. Felipe Barreto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andres Ekhi having to make a save. Andres Ekhi made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Felipe Barreto sent off a good shot on target. 56 minutes into the match, Ricart Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Andres Ekhi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felipe Barreto. Eusebio Hori recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eusebio Hori's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Felipe Barreto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Andres Ekhi made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Felipe Barreto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Andres Ekhi. That made the score 1-2 in the 68 minute of play. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusebio Hori in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 74th minute Ricart Futebol Clube were awarded a corner. Doron Bantz went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Portugal's goalie and right to Emanuel Olisadebe. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Portugal's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eusebio Hori in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilson Amorim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 83 played minutes Ricart Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Doron Bantz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipinho Amorim in the 84th minute of play forced Ricart Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Andres Ekhi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusebio Hori, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Ricart Futebol Clube's Abel Ramalho managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Fabricio Andrade in the 93 minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Bartolomeu Dias took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Andres Ekhi to make any attempt to save it. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Portugal had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
