Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Viriato Moura made the kick off and thus started the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filomeno Montrell in the 19th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erwin Huygens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Velez Sarsfield's Augusto Cordario. But to his dismay, Augusto Cordario quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 29thth minute of the game Viriato Moura who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Velez Sarsfield's Erwin Huygens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Augusto Cordario in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilson Amorim saved Portugal from getting behind. Felipe Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Velez Sarsfield's Erwin Huygens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Barreto in the 37th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The wind increased when Augusto Cordario made the kick off in the second half. Velez Sarsfield's Marcos Pacifico managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Rodolfo Miranda in the 58 minute of the game. 59 minutes into the game, Felipe Barreto threw the ball into play from the sideline. Velez Sarsfield's Filomeno Montrell quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Augusto Cordario's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Velez Sarsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Erwin Huygens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
