Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Germany's Frank Sachs started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Malte Schiele hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. After 11 minutes, Malte Schiele mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Germany and the Canarinho Atordoado players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Canarinho Atordoado booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Malte Schiele didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Telmo Souza in the 12th minute of play. In the 20th minute Peter Mpenza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Peter Mpenza notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Germany's Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice moves Luiz Leo could shoot a difficult shot in the 25th minute, which Tommy Kahn however easily saved by the left post. After 26 minutes Germany's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Telmo Souza who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Telmo Souza got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tommy Kahn quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Telmo Souza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Tommy Kahn made a huge save. Tommy Kahn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Leo in the 31st minute. Germany's Albin Holweck managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Anísio Queirós in the 33 minute of the game. Márcio Seabra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Mpenza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. 44 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Márcio Seabra. Malte Schiele hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Peter Mpenza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Peter Mpenza to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Luiz Leo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 54th minute Luiz Leo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Leo took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After some careless play in the Germany defense, Peter Mpenza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. The Germany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Kahn should have stopped the shot. Luiz Leo took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. In the 70th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Janik Vogt to maneuver through the defense. A sloppy throw-in by Anísio Queirós in the 76th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Germany's Sven Krakouer. In the 77th match minute, Canarinho Atordoado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor de Salles to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Leo in the 80th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Mpenza in the 82nd minute of play. Adrian Dreifuss kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Albin Holweck's late challenge caught a Canarinho Atordoado's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Albin Holweck helped the player get up and apologised.
