The supporters of Denmark booed when Uberlandia-DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dinei de Lara didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Uberlandia-DMZ getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Chiquinho França hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Denmark's attentive Olav Graversen managed to snatch the ball when Maurinho Donatello made a throw-in in the 78th minute of the game. Keld Paulsen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. João Francisco Seco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Keld Paulsen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th minute João Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keld Paulsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chris Nygaard got free with Osvaldinho Guimarães in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Osvaldinho Guimarães made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Bertram Svenningsen sent off a good shot on target.
