With an extended leg and a bit of luck Casper Claes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The shot was stopped by Casper Claes but with some difficulty. Sokol Gúlúbov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Siebe Michiels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicolae Ceaușescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edward Vanderstraeten's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the game, Master Champion's Sokol Gúlúbov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Casper Claes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nicolae Ceaușescu having to make a save. In the 46th minute Belgium were awarded a corner. Edward Vanderstraeten went to the cornerflag to take it. Edward Vanderstraeten made a great header on Belgium's corner, it was just that Master Champion's Nicolae Ceaușescu managed to reach the ball for a save. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Master Champion's goalie and right to Simon Sabbe. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Master Champion's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tobiasz Rostow stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Master Champion's Nicolae Ceaușescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Master Champion from getting a goal against them. 57 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Matei Corona came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobiasz Rostow in the 58th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Belgium defense, Tobiasz Rostow kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Casper Claes. The Belgium fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Casper Claes should have stopped the shot. A sloppy throw-in by Lev Shershun in the 65th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Belgium's Sander Dermaut. If Edward Vanderstraeten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edward Vanderstraeten couldn't finish the play. The nice shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 92ndth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Nicolae Ceaușescu had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Master Champion were awarded a corner in the 96th minute after Belgium's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Aarne Mikkola took the corner. Aarne Mikkola made a great header on Master Champion's corner, it was just that Belgium's Casper Claes managed to reach the ball for a save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Master Champion fans cheered their team off the field, for while Belgium had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
