Xande Gay didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zaccheo Andolina went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 10th match minute, Sport Club Mavericks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fellipe Souto to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 11 minutes, Sigfrido Auletta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Italy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sigfrido Auletta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Xande Gay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 15th minute of the match. The supporters of Italy booed when Sport Club Mavericks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrianinho Couto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute Sigfrido Auletta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xande Gay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute of the match Italy got a corner. Sport Club Mavericks's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sigfrido Auletta ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 26th minute of play forced Sport Club Mavericks's goalkeeper Xande Gay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xande Gay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 28th minute of the match. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudemiro Fragoso in the 29th minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, Sport Club Mavericks's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Xande Gay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zena Busacca's late challenge caught a Sport Club Mavericks's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zena Busacca helped the player get up and apologised. Flavio Vittori made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Francisco Silveira in the 45th minute. If Zaccheo Andolina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zaccheo Andolina to make the kick off. Sport Club Mavericks made a substitution. Pavlo Kotyuk replaced Alfredão Paiva. A collision led to Sport Club Mavericks getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. İslam Tunçbilek hit a great ball. 59 minutes into the match, Sport Club Mavericks's goalkeeper Xande Gay had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zaccheo Andolina. Xande Gay made an important save on a dangerous shot by Porziano Marchitelli in the 61st minute. In the 63rd minute Siricio Liotta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xande Gay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Francisco Silveira hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zaccheo Andolina got free with Xande Gay in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Italy's attentive Siricio Liotta managed to snatch the ball when Pavlo Kotyuk made a throw-in in the 70th minute of the game. Xande Gay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Siricio Liotta, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Eliseo Cutri hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Hélio Nascimento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Flavio Vittori read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. In the 76th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xande Gay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xande Gay was a little too slow when Zaccheo Andolina got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 0-2. Italy made a substitution. Adriano Curto replaced Zaccheo Andolina. Italy's Guiscardo Davide was substituted for Sigfrido Auletta. 86 minutes into the game, Adriano Curto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Xande Gay. Adriano Curto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. In the 92nd minute, Adriano Curto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Italy were furious when Gomberto Picozzi was red carded, 95 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 94 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Italy! Italy:s Flavio Vittori showed great skill when he stopped João Francisco Silveira:s penalty. Italy's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
