In the 10th minute Germany were awarded a corner. Frank Sachs went to the cornerflag to take it. Celsinho Capixaba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Sachs in the 15th minute of the match. Vila Nova GO's Daniel Marquez was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 17th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The supporters of Vila Nova GO booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven Krakouer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Félix in the 27th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erasmo Neiva in the 32nd minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Germany defense, Erasmo Neiva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. The Germany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Kahn should have stopped the shot. Tommy Kahn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erasmo Neiva's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Celsinho Capixaba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Sachs in the 38th minute of the match. Daniel Marquezs short, quick shot in the 42ndth minute got Tommy Kahn to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erasmo Neiva got free with Tommy Kahn in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Marquez to make the kick off. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Vila Nova GO's João Vítor Souto. But to his dismay, João Vítor Souto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. After a rather tough play, Vila Nova GO's Betinho Meireles got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute, Frank Sachs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 63 minutes into the game, Vila Nova GO's Erasmo Neiva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommy Kahn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Marquez, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Marquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute, Sven Krakouer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 78 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Marquez came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Vítor Souto struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Tommy Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vila Nova GO. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Marquez in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. Vila Nova GO made a substitution. Cristian Favoretto replaced Fiori Vianna. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albin Holweck in the 89th minute of play forced Vila Nova GO's goalkeeper Celsinho Capixaba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92ndth minute of the game Daniel Marquez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Germany's Tommy Kahn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Vila Nova GO had played much better football throughout.
