Husky's goalkeeper Jago Urquijo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 11 minutes into the match, C.A. Husky's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Jago Urquijo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jago Urquijo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After having played for 15 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kajar Indrekson in the 19th minute of the match. In the 21st minute Nabar Zafrilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jago Urquijo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Eikelkamp in the 29th minute of play. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 30th minute. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jago Urquijo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. C.A. Husky's Jago Urquijo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 32nd minute of play. Wim Wilmes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jago Urquijo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Antero Otero kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by C.A. Husky's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Bas Tuitert got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jago Urquijo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The referee felt a red card was in order, 41 minutes into the game, when William Jespersson put in a rough tackle. The referee gave Netherlands a penalty, 42 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of C.A. Husky's Jago Urquijo. 0-2. After the first half Netherlands were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Jago Urquijo threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 54th match minute, C.A. Husky was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kajar Indrekson to maneuver through the defense. When C.A. Netherlands's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
