Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Augusto Cordario took the kick off in the first half of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Augusto Cordario got free with Flavio Vittori in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filomeno Montrell in the 9th minute of the match. In the 14th match minute, Velez Sarsfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Cordario to maneuver through the defense. 16 minutes into the match, Italy's Siricio Liotta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erwin Huygens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Zaccheo Andolina managed to get in a good position for a shot. Italy's supporters rose to their feet, but Zaccheo Andolina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erwin Huygens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 21 minutes into the match, Velez Sarsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Erwin Huygens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, Augusto Cordario recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Flavio Vittori. Augusto Cordario showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Augusto Cordario in the 28thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Flavio Vittori, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 32 minutes into the match, Italy's Siricio Liotta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erwin Huygens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With his leg Flavio Vittori managed to avoid a goal in the 36thth minute, when Velez Sarsfield's Augusto Cordario fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 39th minute Augusto Cordario shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Velez Sarsfield were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after Italy's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Filomeno Montrell took the corner. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zaccheo Andolina stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Velez Sarsfield's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Zaccheo Andolina fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 59th minute, Zaccheo Andolina reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Erwin Huygens. The goal made the score 1-1. After 67 played minutes Velez Sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Arnoldo Mel. Velez Sarsfield's Leandro Berti was substituted for Ignacio Berenguer. Arnoldo Mel kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Zaccheo Andolina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Augusto Cordario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Italy's Sansone Vanella was substituted for Gianpaolo Mascari. Velez Sarsfield made a substitution. Yiyo Bernal replaced Marcos Pacifico. Erwin Huygens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guiscardo Davide, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Italy players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
