The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ruben Sánchez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 9th minute of the match. Martin Palermo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Walter Samuel's late challenge caught a Belgium's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Walter Samuel helped the player get up and apologised. In the 15th match minute, Magic is Back was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walter Samuel to maneuver through the defense. Ruben Sánchez came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten. But to his dismay, Edward Vanderstraeten quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Martin Palermo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Casper Claes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Martin Palermo did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Casper Claes 21 minutes into the match. Magic is Back's Ruben Sánchez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 25th minute of play. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Magic is Back's goalkeeper Ruben Sánchez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 34th minute Edward Vanderstraeten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Sánchez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Siebe Michiels took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ruben Sánchez. Ruben Sánchez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Ruben Sánchez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 44th minute of play. Edward Vanderstraeten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Magic is Back's goalie prevented a goal. The audience was convinced that Edward Vanderstraeten's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ruben Sánchez was relentless in the 46th minute of the game.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edward Vanderstraeten was the one to do the kick off. Miguel Nicolau charged in rather forcefully in the 50th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Miguel Nicolau the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Magic is Back made a substitution. Roland Schiavi replaced Marcelo Trobbiani. After a rather tough play, Belgium's Sander Dermaut got a free kick in the 61st minute. A collision led to Belgium getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Sander Dermaut hit a great ball. Edward Vanderstraeten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Ruben Sánchez made a huge save. 65 minutes into the match, Edward Vanderstraeten dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ruben Sánchez, 1-3. Magic is Back made a substitution. Gabi Batistuta replaced Osvaldo Potente. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Palermo in the 69th minute of the match. In the 70th minute Martin Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Edward Vanderstraeten dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ruben Sánchez, 1-4. Belgium's Nigel Devos managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Roland Schiavi in the 77 minute of the game. Ruben Sánchez was a little too slow when Edward Vanderstraeten got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 1-6. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Medero in the 87th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Vanderstraeten got free with Ruben Sánchez in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ruben Sánchez. That made the score 1-7 after 93 minutes of play. When the final whistle sounded Belgium left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Magic is Back.
