The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Yves Dervaux managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Casper Claes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andolín Echeandía in the 15th minute. Salvador Ortega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 18th minute of play. Fulco Urra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Casper Claes made a huge save. Belgium's Casper Claes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Belgium from getting a goal against them. Salvador Ortega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 30th minute of play. Salvador Ortega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Belgium's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 32nd minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Simon Sabbe heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Simon Sabbe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Salvador Ortega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Salvador Ortega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the game, Yves Dervaux cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Salvador Ortega was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Edward Vanderstraeten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Salvador Ortega read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fulco Urra in the 52nd minute of play. Edward Vanderstraeten in the 57thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Salvador Ortega, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 63 minutes into the match, Lautaro L.P.'s goal looked a bit too open when Edward Vanderstraeten came free, but Salvador Ortega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fulco Urra in the 73rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andolín Echeandía in the 74th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
