Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Eduardo Alcântara in the 10th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 12th minute of play forced Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Várzea F.C.'s Jude Monkhouse sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Flavio Vittori narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A nice corner shot did that Aloísio Secco got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Flavio Vittori quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Várzea F.C.'s Carlos Augusto Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 28th minute of play. Anderson Paiva kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jude Monkhouse in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Flavio Vittori saved Italy from getting behind. The supporters of Italy booed when Várzea F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Roberto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Italy's Zaccheo Andolina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Delmiro Licerio, made in the 39th minute of the game. A collision led to Várzea F.C. getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Delmiro Licerio hit a great ball. Várzea F.C.'s Carlos Augusto Quintal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Várzea F.C. from getting a goal against them. After 46 played minutes Várzea F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Anderson Paiva. Carlos Augusto Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zaccheo Andolina was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Várzea F.C. booed when Italy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zena Busacca didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute, Italy's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jude Monkhouse fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Italy's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Aloísio Secco ran over to the corner to take the kick. Aloísio Secco made a great header on Várzea F.C.'s corner, it was just that Italy's Flavio Vittori managed to reach the ball for a save. Italy's Adriano Curto was substituted for Zaccheo Andolina. Flavio Vittori came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Várzea F.C.'s Dé Montenegro. But to his dismay, Dé Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 92nd minute Dé Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dé Montenegro in the 93rd minute of the match. Italy's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
