But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jude Monkhouse couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabricio Andrade during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Várzea F.C. booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabricio Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jude Monkhouse's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Wilson Amorim firmly grabbed it by the left post. The supporters of Portugal booed when Várzea F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jesus Eusko didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Gustavo Porto got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jude Monkhouse, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Jude Monkhouse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 19 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Jude Monkhouse came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Várzea F.C.'s Delmiro Licerio got a free kick in the 21st minute. If Felipe Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Carlos Augusto Quintal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Barreto in the 23rd minute of the match. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Bruno Bastos hit a great ball. Várzea F.C.'s Carlos Augusto Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Barreto in the 28th minute of play. Wilson Amorim stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jude Monkhouse's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jude Monkhouse in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilson Amorim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Portugal's Viriato Moura in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Várzea F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. 46 minutes into the game, Várzea F.C.'s Jude Monkhouse nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jude Monkhouse made a kick off. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Delmiro Licerio in the 51 minute of the game. After 54 minutes of play, Várzea F.C.'s Jude Monkhouse made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilson Amorim was left in no man's land by his defense there! Carlos Augusto Quintal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felipe Barreto in the 58th minute. Alf Tennenbaum kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the match, Portugal's Felipe Barreto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carlos Augusto Quintal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jesus Eusko kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. Carlos Augusto Quintal was a little too slow when Felipinho Amorim got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 3-1. In the 77th match minute, Várzea F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Eduardo Alcântara to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute Bartolomeu Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Augusto Quintal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Várzea F.C.'s attentive Delmiro Licerio managed to snatch the ball when Bruno Bastos made a throw-in in the 80th minute of the game. Carlos Augusto Quintal made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Felipinho Amorim sent off a good shot on target. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dé Montenegro in the 84th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the match, Portugal's Felipinho Amorim sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carlos Augusto Quintal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Carlos Augusto Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipinho Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Portugal's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
