The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the game, Romania's Sanda Cutov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Niculae Romanescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Romania's Costica Vladimiri got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 10 minutes into the match, Romania's goal looked a bit too open when Michaël Guillot came free, but Carol Stinga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute of the match CWKS KĘDZIERZYN got a corner. Romania's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tymoteusz Wierzcholek ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Tymoteusz Wierzcholek got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Carol Stinga quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The throw-in from Mateusz Klich in the 13th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Romania's Alex Serban. Niculae Romanescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Olaru in the 16th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, CWKS KĘDZIERZYN's goal looked a bit too open when Costica Vladimiri came free, but Niculae Romanescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by CWKS KĘDZIERZYN's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Adam Olaru was slow to take the kick. During this time Romania's players had a chance to rest. Alex Serban was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Carol Stinga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isak Lundqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. CWKS KĘDZIERZYN's Niculae Romanescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Serban in the 24th minute of play. Niculae Romanescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costica Vladimiri in the 26th minute of play. Niculae Romanescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Olaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Carol Stinga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michaël Guillot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the match, Romania's goal looked a bit too open when Michaël Guillot came free, but Carol Stinga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Michaël Guillot in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carol Stinga saved Romania from getting behind. Adam Olaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Romania's Sanda Cutov got a free kick in the 44th minute. When Tymoteusz Wierzcholek came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the CWKS KĘDZIERZYN fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tymoteusz Wierzcholek couldn't finish the play. Romania's Carol Stinga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco van Basten in the 47th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
A collision led to CWKS KĘDZIERZYN getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Marco van Basten hit a great ball. Costica Vladimiri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niculae Romanescu having to interfere. Carol Stinga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michaël Guillot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th minute of the match CWKS KĘDZIERZYN got a corner. Romania's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tymoteusz Wierzcholek ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Velimir Bostandzhiev managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 61st minute, Anton Stinga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Niculae Romanescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Romania's Octavian Vaduva was substituted for Costica Vladimiri. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Stinga in the 65th minute of play forced CWKS KĘDZIERZYN's goalkeeper Niculae Romanescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Niculae Romanescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anton Stinga went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. CWKS KĘDZIERZYN made a substitution. Ireneusz Jeleń replaced Marco van Basten. CWKS KĘDZIERZYN's Lucas Mancheño was substituted for Velimir Bostandzhiev. Niculae Romanescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octavian Vaduva in the 72nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Stinga in the 74th minute of play forced CWKS KĘDZIERZYN's goalkeeper Niculae Romanescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Niculae Romanescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anton Stinga's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. The supporters of CWKS KĘDZIERZYN booed when Romania was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sanda Cutov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Michaël Guillot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 80 minutes into the match, CWKS KĘDZIERZYN's Michaël Guillot sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carol Stinga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Niculae Romanescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rasvan Cristescu in the 82nd minute of play. Niculae Romanescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandru Pangratiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anton Stinga in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Niculae Romanescu saved CWKS KĘDZIERZYN from getting behind. Carol Stinga came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by CWKS KĘDZIERZYN's Isak Lundqvist. But to his dismay, Isak Lundqvist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3.
