Huế's Hồ Anh Hung managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Vít Biskup in the 27 minute of the game. Triệu Anh Hung struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Henrich Slany didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Huế. Metod Mlynar hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Trần Nghiêm-Minh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Metod Mlynar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Duc kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Metod Mlynar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Metod Mlynar made a precise shot to the right of Nguyễn Teo. Huế's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Metod Mlynar's late challenge caught a Huế's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Metod Mlynar helped the player get up and apologised. In the 59th match minute, Slovakia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Metod Mlynar to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Huế booed when Slovakia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vavrinec Koleno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Teo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Metod Mlynar in the 64th minute. In the 80th minute, Nguyễn Thanh ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Henrich Slany was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Zigmund Maliar hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. After having played for 85 minutes, Trần Nghiêm-Minh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Huế's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trần Nghiêm-Minh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Metod Mlynar struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Nguyễn Teo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Slovakia. 89 minutes into the match, Trần Nghiêm-Minh notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Slovakia's Henrich Slany. Henrich Slany was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nguyễn Thanh's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henrich Slany read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Hồ Anh Hung got a throw-in 95 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Nguyễn Thanh. When Nguyễn Thanh came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Huế fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Thanh couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Huế fans cheered their team off the field, for while Slovakia had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
