After 12 played minutes Italiano got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro Quintanilha. Peter Shilton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Käller in the 14th minute of play. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by Italiano's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joacim Hansson was slow to take the kick. During this time Kind of Blue's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Kind of Blue's Joacim Hansson to fire away a dangerous shot which Peter Shilton despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Sebastian Käller cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Peter Shilton was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 31 minutes into the match, Italiano's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Käller came free, but Peter Shilton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diego Armando Maradona kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the game, Sebastian Käller cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Peter Shilton was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 43 played minutes Italiano got a freekick which was hit by Joseph Låsberg. Ramiro Quintanilha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Kind of Blue were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sebastian Käller was the one to do the kick off. Sebastian Käller's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Peter Shilton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Helge Stenberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilhelm Galle having to interfere. In the 55th minute, Thomas Månsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sebastian Käller could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Peter Shilton made a huge save. Wilhelm Galle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joseph Låsberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Sebastian Käller came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Kind of Blue fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Käller couldn't finish the play. Sebastian Käller might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Peter Shilton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastian Käller ran back to his position shaking his head. Kind of Blue's Östen Högman was substituted for Zhuo Ke Le. Sebastian Käller's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Peter Shilton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Italiano defense, Östen Högman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Peter Shilton. The Italiano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Peter Shilton should have stopped the shot. Sebastian Käller could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Peter Shilton made a huge save. Peter Shilton was out of position in the 78 minute of play, and Sebastian Käller capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sebastian Käller really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. Kind of Blue's Sebastian Käller got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Italiano's goalkeeper Peter Shilton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Peter Shilton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sebastian Käller in the 87th minute. Peter Shilton was a little too slow when Sebastian Käller got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 87th minute. The score was now 0-6. Sebastian Käller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sebastian Käller blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Peter Shilton having to make a save. Through an outstanding action, after 93 minutes, Peter Shilton successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A sloppy throw-in by Thomas Månsson in the 94th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Kind of Blue's Epifanio Aznar. Italiano's Peter Shilton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Italiano from getting a goal against them. Kind of Blue were awarded a corner in the 96th minute after Italiano's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joacim Hansson took the corner. The Kind of Blue supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Kind of Blue would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
